The phrase "climate change" has become a political/moral buzzword. Behind the phrase, though, is a contentious debate that often distracts from fact that in many places the climate is changing (recall this post the changing conditions Australia), regardless of the cause.
Now, the 340 residents of Newtok, Alaska have been forced to relocate, as the permafrost their village used to sit atop has melted away. Check out the (eerie) photo of the swampy village (in 2007!) in this New York Times piece.
